All meetings start at 6:30 pm and run until 8:45 pm. Our next club meeting will be on May 27, 2008 at the CC Museum of Science and History. Competition Night We have Open Competition during our meeting nights. You can enter up to four prints in Color Prints and B&W Prints. They must be matted and have your name and print title on the back. For judging purposes we affix a number to the front with a Post-It paper. After judging it is removed. Any member in good standing is eligible to vote. From time to time we have a Closed Competition. This is an assigned topic. We place the prints on tables. This allows everyone a chance to view all the prints and judge them. After the judging, members and visitors are encouraged to exchange their views on the prints. Corpus Christi Camera Club annual membership dues are $25 for a single membership, $35 for a couple, and $20 for an associate(under 18 years old).

We encourage our members to join the Art Center of Corpus Christi. The dues for the Art Center is $35 per year.

The advantage of belonging to the Art Center is that you can partcipate in the annual Exhibit of Fine Art Photography held every February. You can also enter the All Membership Exhibit and the Dimension Show in November. Call the Art Center (884-6406) for more info or ask any of the club officers at the next meeting.

Judging

Our prints are judged from a scale from 1 to 15. There are five things that we look for in an image.

1. Interesting Subject Matter - Does it draw a response? Does it grab your attention?

2. Composition - Is the composition pleasing?

3. Point of Interest - Is there a point of interest?

4. Atmosphere & Mood - What is the photographer trying to convey to you.

5. Quality & Technique - How is the craftsmanship? Are the colors sharp? Are the tones right? How is the presentation?

We have found that the way we view and judge the images is a more imtimate way of seeing what the photographer was trying to capture. We can talk with one another and then come up with our own judgement.
