Corpus Christi Camera Club

Club Background

Our Mission Statement

The Corpus Christi Camera Club is here to help photographers enjoy their hobby and offer an outlet for those that want to exhibit their images.

We offer our past photographic experiences to those that need help in using and understanding their cameras, traditional film and digital, or need help in darkroom work. At one time or another we have all had "challenges" with our cameras or in the darkroom. And now with the digital darkroom, we are all learning something new.

History of Our Club

The Corpus Christi Camera Club was founded in 1936 by a group of photographers that wanted to learn and share their experiences in photography. Now remember, back then there was no digital cameras and the 35mm camera was just coming around. The camera of the day was either the Graflex 4x5 or any twin lens camera.

The club disbanded around 1942 because of World War II but got back together in 1946.

We have been involved in many events since then. We used to have an exhibit booth at the Naval Relief Days festival held in the 1960's at NAS Corpus Christi. We also held photo contests opened to the public in the late '70's and early '80's.
